About Cyber Monday

What is Cyber Monday, and what does it mean for travel?

Cyber Monday is the Monday after US Thanksgiving, which is November 30 in 2026. The name was coined in 2005 by the US National Retail Federation, working with its Shop.org arm, after the group noticed how many people went online to shop on that Monday. It was created for e-commerce from the start, and it has spread to Canadian retailers along with Black Friday.

Travel is a natural fit, because trips are researched and booked online anyway. Airlines, tour operators and travel agencies run Cyber Monday offers, and some fare trackers have reported that Canadian airline sales are often strongest on this day. Packagers may run Cyber Monday offers as one-day sales or as a continuation of their Black Friday weekend event.

The risk on a day like this is rushing. A countdown timer is a reason to compare quickly, not a reason to skip the comparison. TripRadr puts the same package from several Canadian travel sites next to each other, so you can see in one search whether the Cyber Monday price is the best one for your resort, dates and airport.

How to compare

How to compare Cyber Monday travel deals

Cyber Monday offers can be short, so do the preparation first and the comparison takes minutes.

  1. 1. Check your prices on Sunday

Search your trip the day before and note the price. Then you can tell whether Monday's price is really lower.

  2. 2. Get your details ready

Have traveller names exactly as they appear on passports, plus your card and dates in hand so you can book quickly if a price is right.

  3. 3. Compare the same trip

Search the same resort, dates, nights and airport, and let TripRadr line up the travel sites in CAD.

  4. 4. Book with the site you pick

Click through, confirm what is included and the end time of the offer, and book directly with that site.

Before you book

Know before you book a Cyber Monday deal

  • Note when the offer ends

Some Cyber Monday offers end at midnight and some run for days. The end time is on the travel site, not on TripRadr.

  • Look past the headline

Compare the total after taxes and fees for the same room and board plan, not the biggest advertised saving.

  • Names must match passports

A spelling mistake on a booking can be costly to fix. Check every name before you pay.

  • Know the change rules

Sale fares and packages can have stricter change and cancellation terms. Read them before you book.

Frequently asked questions

Cyber Monday Travel Deals 2026: frequently asked questions

When is Cyber Monday 2026?

Cyber Monday 2026 is Monday, November 30. It is the Monday after US Thanksgiving weekend, three days after Black Friday and one day before Travel Tuesday on December 1.

Why is it called Cyber Monday?

The US National Retail Federation and Shop.org named it in 2005 after noticing a spike in online shopping on the Monday after Thanksgiving. "Cyber" referred to the internet. It was created as an online-only shopping day.

Are there really travel deals on Cyber Monday?

Airlines, tour operators and online travel agencies commonly run Cyber Monday offers, and some fare trackers have reported that Canadian airline sales are often strongest on this day. Each company sets its own terms, and TripRadr does not publish or guarantee any company's offer.

Is Cyber Monday better than Black Friday for vacation packages?

It depends on the year and the travel site. Some Cyber Monday offers are repeats or extensions of Black Friday sales, and some are new. The reliable way to find out is to compare the same trip across sites on both days.

How do I compare Cyber Monday vacation packages quickly?

Search your resort or destination, dates, nights and departure airport on TripRadr. A free account shows the side-by-side prices from the travel sites, so you can pick the lowest total for the same package and click through to book.

What should I check before booking a Cyber Monday deal?

Check what is included (board plan, baggage, transfers), the final price with taxes and fees, the deposit and payment deadline, the change and cancellation terms and when the offer ends. Make sure every traveller name matches their passport.

Can I wait until Travel Tuesday instead?

You can, and Travel Tuesday on December 1 often brings its own offers. The trade-off is that a sale can end or a room type can sell out, so decide based on how the price compares with other sites, not on the date.

Does TripRadr sell vacation packages?

No. TripRadr compares prices and sends you to the travel site you choose. You book and pay there. TripRadr adds no fee and is not affiliated with the sites it compares.
