Travel brand questions

Frequently asked questions about Canadian travel brands

Which travel brands does TripRadr compare?

TripRadr is built to compare vacation package prices across Canadian travel brands including Sunwing Vacations, ShopTravel, WestJet Vacations, Transat, Air Canada Vacations, Expedia, redtag.ca, iTravel2000, Escapes.ca and TripCentral. Not every brand sells every resort, so the brands shown can differ by search.

What is the difference between a tour operator, a travel retailer and an online travel agency?

A tour operator, such as Sunwing Vacations or Transat, assembles packages from flights and hotels. A retailer, such as redtag.ca or Escapes.ca, sells packages and trips put together by operators. An online travel agency, such as Expedia, sells flights, hotels and packages from many suppliers. The same resort can be sold by all three, at different prices.

Why do different brands show different prices for the same resort?

Brands buy flights and rooms on different terms, may include different room types, flights or baggage, and run their own promotions. That is why the total for identical dates can differ from one site to the next, and why TripRadr shows them side by side.

Is there one brand that is always the cheapest?

No. The lowest price depends on the resort, the dates, the departure airport and the day you search, and it changes often. Compare your own trip rather than relying on a brand's reputation.

Are some of these brands owned by the same company?

Yes, in some cases. Sunwing Vacations and WestJet Vacations are both part of WestJet Group. redtag.ca and iTravel2000 sit in the same group, owned by H.I.S. Group of Japan. ShopTravel is independent. Each brand page explains who owns the brand, as far as we have been able to verify.

How do I compare prices for the same resort?

Search a resort on TripRadr with your departure airport, date and number of nights. TripRadr then shows the same package priced across the travel sites it checks, in Canadian dollars, per person, for two adults.

Is TripRadr affiliated with any of these brands?

No. TripRadr is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any brand it compares. Brand names and logos belong to their owners and are used only to identify the brand being described.

Does TripRadr sell or book trips?

No. When you choose a price you are sent to the travel site that offers it, and you book and pay there.

How current is the information on the brand pages?

Each brand page shows when its facts were last checked, currently October 2026, and the facts come from the brand's own site, regulators and trade press. Companies change, so confirm details with the brand before you book.
