WestJet RBC World Elite FAQs
How does the free checked bag work on the WestJet RBC card?
RBC states the first checked bag is free for the primary cardholder and up to 8 guests on the same WestJet-operated reservation, when booked with the card. A WestJet Rewards ID must be on the reservation, and WestJet or WestJet Vacations must be the merchant of record. It is not valid on Sunwing Vacations or codeshare and interline flights.
What is the annual companion voucher?
With $5,000 in annual spending, you earn a companion voucher for a round trip from $119 in economy within Canada or the continental U.S., or from $399 elsewhere, plus taxes and fees. It can instead be exchanged for 30% off a base fare, a $200 vacation credit or two lounge vouchers. Booking rules apply, so read the terms.
What income do I need for this card?
RBC requires $80,000 personal income or $150,000 household income. That is higher than the other airline cards in this guide. Approval is always subject to credit review.
What are WestJet points worth?
RBC states 100 WestJet points equal $1 toward the base fare of an eligible WestJet flight or a WestJet Vacations package. Points also cover taxes, fees and extras like bags and seats. The minimum redemption is 2,500 points for flights.
Does the card include lounge access?
It includes a complimentary DragonPass (Mastercard Travel Pass) membership, but each visit costs US$32 per person, subject to change. The annual companion voucher can be exchanged for two WestJet partner-lounge vouchers instead. If lounges matter, compare with cards that include free visits.
